New Blog Design

Check it out! Since I'm still unemployed, I spent the last few days redesigning my blog :-) Yay for no job!! If you're getting this post via email, be sure to visit my blog and check out the design--let me know what you think!

And now for a little stamping treat...

When we were leaving Manhattan a few weeks ago, I decided to mass-produce thank-you cards for all my employees, professors, and employers. Of course I had to make 30-some cards, and I wanted to finish them all while I watched American Idol (i.e. in 2 hours :-) I chose this design and was able to finish all of them in while I watched American Idol, and I even had plenty of time to stop and watch the performances! Whoo hoo!

I also made this same card with Kraft, Chocolate Chip, and Baja Breeze, but I only have a picture of this version (made with Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, and Kiwi Kiss). Don't forget that the three colors pictured above are all In Colors that will be retiring on June 30! Don't forget to order those Last Chance items TODAY!

Chicago!

I greatly apologize for my absence over the past months. I have finally finished my Master's at Kansas State, and my husband and I just moved to Chicago yesterday! I just got my computer up and running, and I'm working to organize all my stamping supplies. I hope to begin posting again regularly with updates and samples for your viewing pleasure :-)

A couple updates from Stampin' Up!:

The Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog Retired List will be published on June 1, 2009. I will post a link here tomorrow to those lists.

Stampin' Up! has decided to go back to one catalog per year instead of two. The last day to order from the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog is June 30, 2009. Mojo AGAIN!

I've got some more mojo going today! I used Mojo 72 for this card. I altered it a little because my stamp choices ended up not allowing me to complete the card as it was intended. Thankfully, the world of stamping has NO RULES! I love that I can start out intending to copy a card or sketch, but end up with something totally different than I started with!

This card turned out a little busier than I intended, but once all is said and done, I really like this card!

Stamp Set: Eastern Blooms
Colors: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette, Sweet Always DSP
Accessories: Flower Fusion & Flower Fusion Too Felt Flowers, Silver Brads, Scallop Edge Punch

Happy Stamping!

Mojo 71

Not surprisingly, I pulled out my Texturz Plates again! I went back in the Mojo Monday sketches a few weeks to find a sketch for this card. I also went with a KWerner Color Inspiration for the colors on this card. I love it when my card is basically laid out for me with a sketch and the colors!

I used the SU! exclusive Small Dots Texturz plate for my card's background. I wanted the dots to line up in my background, so I went ahead and cut my background pieces and adhered them together with a scrap of card stock on the back before I ran it through the Big Shot. I think it worked out quite well!

Stamp Sets: Petal Pizazz, Wow Flowers
Colors: More Mustard, So Saffron, Old Olive, Taken with Teal

Happy Stamping!

Birthday Celebrations

I know I've mentioned this before, but I always give out birthday cards to my fitness center employees. I always have trouble making cards for my male employees, so I got out some retired Designer Series Paper that at least looked a little boy-ish :-)

The card came together really fast, and I enjoyed making it. It was a simple design, and DSP always makes card-making really easy!

Stamp Set: Fun & Fast Notes, Upsy Daisy
Colors: Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, So Saffron, Bashful Blue

Happy Stamping!
